Poison

I find you in my pores
After a warm bath,
They exude whiteness,
A held hand will stay uncut,
And my dry scaly skin
Grows thick like an orange.
I find you in a soft glance
Even if unreturned,
And the air ingests it,
Leaving your eyes moistened
With a meager departure.
I find you in the unreachable,
When it bows to me,
A lightning that severs the sky
In a passing moment that lingers
Until thunder salutes.
I find you in the space
That occupies a heartbeat,
Or many heartbeats in exercise,
And my shoulders grow broad
To carry my load.
