by Victoria H. Smith
Summary from Goodreads:
He’s noticed by everyone…
He’s captain of our college’s basketball team. I swear to God I’ve already seen him in a Nike ad, and he’s one of the top picks when he goes pro following our spring graduation.
His life is on display for the world. Both his accomplishments and demons there for judgment.
I’m a girl who likes to play roller derby from, of all places, Wisconsin. My own demons better concealed. And one day…
He notices me.
What I loved most about this book was its diversity, because we do need more diverse books. The message that it conveyed was one of acceptance that transcended even beyond the main characters. That to me was just beautiful.
I loved how Griffin and Roxie saw each other for who they were right from the start, and the color of their skin was never an issue. That’s how it should be, love should know no boundaries. Roxie was perfect in her imperfectness. She had her insecurities about not being a skinny girl and that’s something most girls can relate to. Griffin was the kind of guy who could have any girl he wanted, but after living that lifestyle for a while, he was over it. Deep inside he valued his humble beginnings and his family above all else.
Found by You was an enjoyable new adult read about two extremely different people whose story was unique and lovely.
